My Mom traced her gemology years ago before computers were around. We would go through Churches, Libraries, and relative's Bibles in all different cities and states where her, or our heritage was. She traced our heritage back to Scotland and when our family came across to Ellis Island in New York.
Mom wanted to trace her heritage back further so if to Scotland we went. She found the Library in Edinburgh Castle and found the book of Buchanans. They fought very hard next to William Wallace. I didn't feel like Edinburgh Castle was a castle, I felt like it was a Memorial Site. My Mom cried so hard seeing so many of her kinsman's names in the book of Buchanan. Scotland is it's own country that's a bit to the Buchanan Clan.
