How To Start A New Chapter In Our Lives

How to start a new chapter in our lives. Here we go, into our new journey in Panama and a brand new chapter! We sold our beloved BB camper van and bought a plane ticket to Panama.

This is so very exciting but how do we begin a new chapter? We can’t go back and re-live previous chapters in our life, but would we really want to? Probably not. The only positive movement we can make is forward.

To unlock the full potential of the next phase of our lives, we need to let go of the past. We absolutely cannot focus on moving forward and creating a new story if we're holding on to the past.

A fantastic benefit of starting a new chapter is the freedom to be who we are meant to be. The power to design our life and everything in it is already within us. We just have to be brave enough to go for it.

It's really good to make a list of what we want to experience, where we want to go, and what we want to do. Write down everything, big or small, that we want to do in this new chapter. We can do whatever our heart desires. Travel, Learn a new language, Buy a dream car, Take a dream vacation, Learn a new hobby, or Start a new career.

What we need to be successful in this new chapter is a rock-solid belief that we can do it. We have to believe that everything will be okay and will work out for us.

We have to know that fear will always be there. The bravest people aren’t courageous because they have no fear. They are courageous because they don’t let fear stop them.

There’s always going to be something to be afraid of. Fear of failure, of success, missing out, making a mistake, etc. Stepping out of our comfort zone requires us to be comfortable moving forward in spite of our fear. We are attempting to leave where we are comfortable in the hopes of something amazing. That’s a super, big deal.

When we get scared, let's just look at it for what it is, accept the fear as a human trait, evaluate the calculated risks, and move forward.

We have to surround ourselves with positive people that believe in us and our new chapter. We have to remove toxic people from our lives and promote our cheerleaders. We have to become part of groups that will help us be successful.

A new chapter requires a lot of learning. We’re learning new habits and skills that we will need for our new experiences. Let's make learning a part of our daily life. We have to remember to give ourselves grace to make mistakes, while ensuring that we learn from them.

In order to bring our dreams into reality, we must have a plan in place.

What is the dream?

When is the desired deadline?

Why do we want to do this?

How much money do we need and how much time?

Who do we need to get help from? Business associates, teachers, mentors, travel agents, insurance agents, etc.

Let's remember that change is not always fun and that we are changing our way of life, our acquaintances, and our habits for a new, wonderful, happy life. This process can be exciting, scary, nerve wracking, and fun, but ultimately we want to be happy. Self care and self love is necessary along with regular time outs to take a breather and reflect on how far we've come and how much closer we are to our new chapter. Never forget that we are the author of our own lives. Make it great!
