Is this Australia or Paradise?!? We met some people from Sydney and Cairns is where they vacation each summer. So beautiful! Paradise in the Land Down Under!!
Tourism is down, from the fires and the way the media sensationalizes EVERYTHING, but Australia is open for business! Everyone we met tells us how much they depend on tourism.
We were told not to go to the Bahamas, but we went and found paradise. We were told not to go to Australia, but we came and found paradise. Who knew Australia had this beauty to offer? The locals we met from Sydney said this is the "Real Australia".
We scheduled to visit Australia a year in advance and had no idea that there would be wildfires so over the continent. Luckily, we booked through Airbnb and we were able to hear the news directly from the Aussies. The first were devastating, however they were not as wide spread as we were being told by the US media business.
Natural disasters happen but we are all interdependent on each other. We absolutely need each other so go explore the world!
