I'm in the zone, the fat burning zone!!!
Did you know that our fat burning heart rate or cardio zone is at about 70% - 85% of our maximum heart rate?
Our maximum heart rate is the maximum number of times our heart should beat during activity. To determine our maximum heart rate, subtract our age from 220.
For example, I'm 50 and my maximum heart rate is 220 - 50 = 170 beats per minute. I want to get in the cardio zone during my workout so I need to increase my workout so that my heart beats up to 80% of my maximum heart rate. 170 x .85 = 145.
