Downtown Astoria, Oregon

Mike and I spent a few days exploring Astoria and we really enjoyed the downtown area. Astoria, Oregon is the oldest city in Oregon and was the first American settlement west of the Rockies. It was founded in 1811 as a port for the export of furs from the region.

Astoria, Oregon is one of the Pacific Northwest's most beloved shopping and dining districts. It has it all: award-winning craft breweries, aromatic coffee shops, high-end clothing stores, and fresh-caught seafood.

The Astoria-Megler Bridge was built in 1966 and it is visible from almost anywhere in town. It's over four miles long.

There are so many charming homes and one of them is now the Flavel House Museum; it's the restored Queen Anne-style home of Captain George Flavel. It was built in 1885.
