Mike and I drove up the bluff to see Cape Blaco Lighthouse because the road to the lighthouse is closed to vehicle traffic. The wind was so incredibly strong that I was scared to stand by the edge in fear that I would be blown over the ledge. We had a fun time watching others try to walk around in this string wind.
Built in 1870, Cape Blanco Lighthouse is the oldest standing lighthouse on the Oregon coast. Located at the state's westernmost tip, and perched over the Pacific Ocean, Cape Blanco features a 19th-century lighthouse and an early Irish settler's home.
