Break Out Of The Comfort Zone

Opportunity favors the bold and

those who are willing to take risks, step out of their comfort zone and into the discomfort of uncertainty. It will be those brave people who will reap the biggest rewards. One of my favorite role models is Richard Branson and my favorite quote from him is "If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later!"

Oh boy! I'm on the edge of the terror zone and learning something new every day on the catamaran. However, this is not the first time that I took an educated risk and jumped. I've felt this uncomfortable feeling so many times and gained great rewards! I jumped out of a plane, I flipped an ATV on the beach in Cabo San Lucas trying something new, actually that was stupid. I was successful in several industries and I moved to three states without knowing anyone or really what I was doing but each of those experiences changed my life.

I learned early in my career that we can never hope to achieve success unless we’re willing to embrace change and risk the discomfort of failure. But, remember th failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success. So, what do you really want to do? Figure it out and go for it!

We must be willing to get comfortable with the discomfort involved with taking risks. So don’t fear failure! Our fear should be us being in the exact same situation next year as we are today. Go for it and be as scared as me!

My big reward this weekend was that I didn't go into panic mode, for the first time, while sailing in the Atlantic and ending the day with yummy nachos with a fantastic sunset!

A quote from my Daddy, "Never let success get to your head and never let failure go to your heart".

He always told me that during difficult times in the office and he kept me grounded when I felt overwhelmed, overworked, and out of control. Now he tells me, "Don't let the fishies get your toes". Love! ❤
