Aruba

I've always wanted to visit Aruba so Mike and I decided to take a Norwegian Cruise and explore Aruba. This multicultural island has so much to offer with their cuisine, architecture, artwork, traditions, and warm, friendly people.

Aruba is a true melting pot, with over 100 nationalities represented in its population of over 112,000 residents. Some of this diversity can be seen in the number of languages that the average Aruban can speak, usually including Dutch, the native language of Papiamento, English, and Spanish

Aruba brews their own beer at a local plant. We tried the Balashi beer and it was very tasty.

Aruba’s slogan is “One Happy Island” and it completely lives up to it. The people all LOVE their island and could talk about it all day long. There is a lot of island pride and for good reason! Also, Aruba is a windsurfers paradise. It holds the world amateur wind-surfing championship each year.

Aruba produces their own drinking at the desalinisation plant. You can drink the water straight from the taps. The electricity on the island is also a by-product of the desalinisation plant. Very cool.

We had the best day at De Palm Island we're we found boundless activities, unlimited food and beverage, elegant flamingos, banana boat rides, wonderful hammocks with a spectacular view, and we especially loved the exciting body drop slides. Woo Hoo!

We found out that Aruba operate with 100% of tourism as their main income.
