Good morning!
Welcome to Day 27 of our Chakra Cleanse. Today we are working on our Crown Chakra.
The Crown Chakra is the seventh and final chakra. It gives us access to higher states of consciousness as we open to what is beyond our personal preoccupations and visions. The function of the Crown chakra is driven by consciousness and gets us in touch with the universe.
Each of us have 7 Chakras and when balanced they work together to create an optimal life. If you would like to know more, here’s the info on the Daily Guide and What Are CHAKRAS.
If you would like to join me in cleaning my chakras, I would love it!
Yesterday's exercises -
Creating a spiritual practice space, check! I live on a boat so I have a place in the saloon that is just for me when I do yoga and mediate.
Intermittent Fasting, check! I didn’t eat for most of the day to let my body heal.
Meditation, check! I meditated to binaural beats.
Yoga - Tree Pose, check! I did pretty good.
Affirmation, check! I repeated “I am at peace.”
I am feeling fantastic, so let’s go!
Today we are going to focus on educating ourselves.
Rarely do we see more than our mind will allow us to. Our brain has fixed our lenses only to pick up the familiar and the comfortable so we see things as black or white. We want to expand our minds by reading books, watching videos, and listen to podcasts on a range of topics to do with self-growth. Identify any areas of ignorance or prejudice that we might have and deepen our education in these areas. The wise philosopher Socrates once said, “the more I learn, the less I realize I know.”
1. Educate ourselves
I started listening to audiobooks when I was on road trips for the last two years. Now I listen to them when I work out. Below are some great books on Youtube to listen to. You may also be able to find them at the library or on Audiobooks. Pick one to listen to and go on from the to expand the mindset.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Think and Grow Rich by Robert Kiyosaki
As A Man Thinketh by James Allen
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
Mindset by Carol Dweck
Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl
The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*CK BY Mark Manson
We still want to use meditation, yoga pose, food and an affirmation because this awakens and strengthens our chakra. We need all the help that we can get.
2. Meditation:
Here’s an app for Insight Timer Meditation
Here is the YouTube video for Binaural beats to use with earphones.
Meditate for as long as you would like and it's even better if you are out in nature feeling the grass and trees around to ground you.
Close your eyes and feel the earth beneath you. Inhale taking in fresh nourishing energy, exhale releasing all of the things that no longer serve you or help you move forward.
Sit with your shoulders back and your spine straight. Try to relax all your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose, pulling the breath as far down into your body as you can, and exhale through the mouth.
Chant OM while meditating
Ooooooommmm
Focus a violet, warm healing, light coming from the from the very top our forehead.
3. Food: Fasting
Fasting is known as the practice of abstaining for food, usually for a short period of time. Despite its recent surge in popularity, fasting is a practice that dates back centuries and plays a central role in many cultures and religions. Fasting can be great for your overall health because it delays aging, detoxes and heals the body, increases human growth hormone, muscle growth, weight loss, . There are many different ways of fasting.
Water Fasting where we only drink water for 24 hours. Some people like to fast much longer up to a month. I’ve only been able to last for six days.
Intermittent Fasting where we don’t eat for 16 to 23 hours straight. This can be where we eat from 11AM to 7PM. These hours work best for me but you pick the hours that you eat the most and it can only be between 1 to 8 hours.
4. Yoga pose: Fish Pose
The fish pose boosts the oxygen and blood flow to the lungs, increases the lung capacity, and helps fight respiratory ailments like asthma, bronchitis, etc. It’s also great for constipation, mild backache, fatigue, anxiety and menstrual pain.
If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga.
We begin by having a large, thick blanket rolled up then we lie our back on top of the rolled blanket so that our back is supported. Our knees are bent, feet on the mat.
Inhale, lift the pelvis slightly off the mat, and slide the hands, palms down, below our buttocks. Then we rest our buttocks on the backs of our hands and keep them there are we perform this pose.
Tuck the forearms and elbows up close to the sides of our torso.
Inhale and press your forearms and elbows firmly against the mat. Next we inhale and lift our head so that the back of our head or crown rest on the mat. There should be a minimal amount of weight on your head to avoid crunching our neck. We can straighten our legs if it's comfortable.
Stay for 15 to 30 seconds, breathing smoothly. With an exhalation lower your torso and head to the floor.
5. Affirmation: “I am free of limiting beliefs.”
When you state an affirmation you are stating a truth. Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energize and motivate.
Repeat all day long and if you look in the mirror while stating this, even better!
