Good morning!
Welcome to Day 25 of our Chakra Cleanse. Today we are starting on our Crown Chakra.
The Crown Chakra is the seventh and final chakra. It gives us access to higher states of consciousness as we open to what is beyond our personal preoccupations and visions. The function of the Crown chakra is driven by consciousness and gets us in touch with the universe.
Each of us have 7 Chakras and when balanced they work together to create an optimal life. If you would like to know more, here’s the info on the Daily Guide and What Are CHAKRAS.
If you would like to join me in cleaning my chakras, I would love it!
Yesterday's exercises -
Sun Gazing, check! I looked into the red sunset. It was so peaceful
Purple food, check! I incorporated purple grapes into my meals.
Meditation, check! I meditated to binaural beats.
Yoga - Fire Log, check! Well I could quite get it right, but I’ll keep trying..
Affirmation, check! I repeated “It is safe for me to see the truth.”
I am feeling so great this morning, so let’s do this!
Today we are going to focus on simplifying our surroundings.
We’re living in the fast lanes today with smartphones, tablets, desktops computers and TVs in our faces all day long. We're connected to the rest of the world all of the time and this can be good and bad. We are also continuously buy new material items because we relate these things to happiness. How many people do you see in line when Apple has a new phone come out. It’s crazy! We want the next new gadget, this season’s clothing line or recreational vehicle and unless we get it, our minds are never at peace. Especially if we know someone else that has it. Then when we get it, we’re happy for a while, then, we're off to acquire something. This cycle of consumption never results in peace. It never brings us true happiness. It brings us stress, anxiety, anger and frustration.
By eliminating our need for more, simplifying our lives and accepting the present moment as it is we cultivate the grounds for true happiness. A happiness not built upon outside forces, but upon our own inner peace. We want to find peace by removing distractions and mindfully choosing to place our time with what matters most to us, family, friends, travel, etc. Pick one of the ways to declutter today and work on completing the rest soon.
1. Simplify and remove distractions.
Place as many things on autopilot as possible.
Paycheck in bank account on direct deposit
Savings account on direct deposit. If you don’t have a savings account, open one and start with $5 a week direct deposit into account. Increase the amount every few months.
Bills go on auto pay and deduct from account when due
Choose Netflix or Amazon Prime over high cable bills
Check email only once a day. Let everyone know that they need to text or call if they need something now, otherwise it will be tomorrow.
Donate all clothes that haven’t been worn in one year.
We still want to use meditation, yoga pose, food and an affirmation because this awakens and strengthens our chakra. We need all the help that we can get.
2. Meditation:
Here’s an app for Insight Timer Meditation
Here is the YouTube video for Binaural beats to use with earphones.
Meditate for as long as you would like and it's even better if you are out in nature feeling the grass and trees around to ground you.
Close your eyes and feel the earth beneath you. Inhale taking in fresh nourishing energy, exhale releasing all of the things that no longer serve you or help you move forward.
Sit with your shoulders back and your spine straight. Try to relax all your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose, pulling the breath as far down into your body as you can, and exhale through the mouth.
Chant OM while meditating
Ooooooommmm
Focus a violet, warm healing, light coming from the from the very top our forehead.
3. Food: Fasting
Fasting is known as the practice of abstaining for food, usually for a short period of time.
Despite its recent surge in popularity, fasting is a practice that dates back centuries and plays a central role in many cultures and religions. Fasting can be great for your overall health because it delays aging, detoxes and heals the body, increases human growth hormone, muscle growth, weight loss, . There are many different ways of fasting.
Water Fasting where we only drink water for 24 hours. Some people like to fast much longer up to a month. I’ve only been able to last for six days.
Intermittent Fasting where we don’t eat for 16 to 23 hours straight. This can be where we eat from 11AM to 7PM. These hours work best for me but you pick the hours that you eat the most and it can only be between 1 to 8 hours.
4. Yoga pose: Bound Angle Pose
The Bound Angle pose helps relieve mild depression, anxiety, and fatigue, relieves the symptoms of menopause and it therapeutic for flat feet and high blood pressure.
If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga.
We begin by sitting with our legs straight out in front of us.
Exhale, bend our knees, pull the heels toward our pelvis, then drop our knees out to the sides and press the soles of your feet together.
Clasp each hand around the same-side ankle or shin.
Sit straight up and we never force our knees down but we can release the thigh bones toward the floor and the knees follow.
Stay in this pose from 1 to 5 minutes.
Then inhale, lift your knees away from the floor, and extend the legs back to their original position.
5. Affirmation: “I accept myself completely.”
When you state an affirmation you are stating a truth. Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energize and motivate.
Repeat all day long and if you look in the mirror while stating this, even better!
