Good morning!
Welcome to Day 17 and our first day of our Throat Chakra Cleanse.
The Throat chakra, the fifth chakra, is the passage of the energy between the lower parts of the body and the head. The function of the Throat chakra is driven by the principle of expression and communication.
The Throat chakra is associated to the pharyngeal and brachial plexus and is connected to the mouth, jaws, tongue, pharynx and palate. It’s is also linked to the shoulders and the neck. The gland associated with the fifth chakra is the thyroid, which regulates the processing of energy in the body through temperature, growth, and in large parts, metabolism.
When we have a clear, strong, and harmonious throat chakra, we will feel self-confident in our ability to express our thoughts and feelings clearly. We will be open, fluent, honest, and unafraid to share how we truly feel.
An imbalance in the throat chakra results in shyness, inability to express our thoughts, secrecy, stubbornness, hostile communication, and a tendency to be socially overbearing.
Each of us have 7 Chakras and when balanced they work together to create an optimal life.

Today we are going to focus on journaling our thoughts.
Writing can do wonders for our health and writing our thoughts in a journal can give us a safe, cathartic release from our stress. Writing our thoughts in a journal can make us feel good, it helps us re-live the events we experienced in a safe environment where we can process them without fear. The process of journaling in itself is very relaxing, and the process of reflecting back on recent events can help us begin seeing things differently. Most important of all, though, keeping a journal that is honest and uncensored can help us to find our true self and our inner voice. I can be a little shy at times, so if you are anything likeme, journaling can bring us out of our shell. Even if you're not shy at all, journaling can help us get more in touch with our emotions by writing about things that we might find deeply upsetting or even embarrassing. In truth, there are multiple ways to approach journaling, but finding prompts will help us write about our thoughts and feelings. Journaling can will help increase our positivity, self-love, self-esteem, and self-confidence all at once. Woo Hoo!
1. Begin writing in a journal
If you’re not sure how to start, then let’s start with answering some questions about our encounters today.
Did I use my words to hurt others or to try to empower them?
Did I express my thoughts or feelings as being the “Truth”?
What could I have said differently to express myself clearly.
We still want to use meditation, yoga pose, food and an affirmation because this awakens and strengthens our chakra. We need all the help that we can get.
2. Meditation:
Here’s an app for Insight Timer Meditation
Here is the YouTube video for Binaural beats to use with earphones.
Meditate for as long as you would like and it's even better if you are out in nature feeling the grass and trees around to ground you.
Close your eyes and feel the earth beneath you. Inhale taking in fresh nourishing energy, exhale releasing all of the things that no longer serve you or help you move forward.
Sit with your shoulders back and your spine straight. Try to relax all your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose, pulling the breath as far down into your body as you can, and exhale through the mouth.
Chant HAM while meditating
Hhhhhaaaaaaaaaammmm
Focus a blue, warm healing, light coming from our throat.
3. Food: Blue
For a healthy throat chakra Eat blueberries, blackberries, blue grapes, currants, kiwifruit, apples, grapefruit, lemons, pears, plums, peaches, figs, and apricots.
4. Yoga pose: Easy Neck Release Pose
To warm up our throat chakra, we will start with a gentle release to soften and open the neck. This will give our throat and neck some attention and help balance the energy. This will help us with communication, self-expression and creativity.
If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga.
Let’s get into a comfortable seated position. Place the index and middle fingers of our right hand on our left temple.
Inhale deeply and draw the crown of the head toward the sky and tuck the chin into the chest.
As we exhale, tip the right ear toward the right shoulder. We will use our fingers as a guide to apply gentle pressure to the temple.
Stay for 10 to 15 breaths, releasing the right shoulder down and away from the ear.
To release, gently prop your head upright using your fingers.
Switch sides.
5. Affirmation: “I speak my truth freely and openly.”
When you state an affirmation you are stating a truth. Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energize and motivate.
Repeat all day long and if you look in the mirror while stating this, even better!
