Day 15 Chakras Cleanse

Good morning!

Welcome to Day 15 of our Chakras cleanse.

Today we’re working on our Heart Chakra.

The heart chakra colors our life with compassion, love, and beauty. Driven by the principles of transformation and integration, the fourth energy center is said to bridge earthly and spiritual aspirations. The heart chakra is the center of love, balance, and connection. This chakra is responsible for regulating the energy associated with self-acceptance, self-love, compassion, openness, and unconditional love of others.

When the heart chakra is balanced, we feel being deeply connected with the appreciation of beauty. We feel open and receptive, courageous enough to open our heart to others. We realize that we can only truly learn how to love others when we love ourselves.

An imbalance heart chakra will create difficulties relating with others, jealousy, codependency, or being closed down, and withdrawn.

Each of us have 7 Chakras and when balanced they work together to create an optimal life. If you would like to know more, here’s the info on the Daily Guide and What Are CHAKRAS.

If you would like to join me in cleaning my chakras, I would love it!

Yesterday's exercises -

Empathy, check! It imagined what was going through Mike’s mind as we were sailing down the Intercoastal Waterway in Florida. He’s the only person I have contact with right now. I imagined that he’s pretty happy because he was smiling all day.

Green food, check! I incorporated spinach and cucumber into my salads.

Meditation, check! I meditated to binaural beats.

Yoga - Camel Pose, check! This felt so amazing!

Affirmation, check! I repeated “ I embrace who I am.”

I am feeling so terrific, so let’s get to it.

Today we are going to focus on loving #1.

We practiced forgiveness a couple of days ago but the hardest person there to forgive is ourselves. We are so judgemental, hard and cruel with our own thoughts. Some of the things we say to ourselves, we would never even say to a stranger. We have to stop and learn to love ourselves. We’re #1 and we need to treat ourselves as such. We’re freaking human and we make mistakes, we have organic bodies that gain weight when we eat too much or don’t workout, we make mistakes, and we have so many feelings so we need to give ourselves a break and just love ourselves.

1. Self Love

  1. Care about ourselves first today. It is not selfish to care about our own self. Compassion for ourselves means showing concern for our feelings as well as for others. We will treat ourselves like we treat our best friend with gentleness, concern and caring.

  2. We will find our boundaries by writing a list of the things that are important to us and that hurt our feelings when they are ignored or violated. They could include being listened to, being celebrated when we succeed. We are important. In the future when someone crosses our boundaries, we’ll know because it hurts and we will be able to verbalize what we need.

  3. From now on we no longer compare ourselves to anyone else. We are who we are and we’re ok with it. If we want to be skinnier, do it, if we want more muscle, do it, if we want a better relationship, do it, if we want a different hairstyle, do it. No more complaining or comparing.

  4. We will forgive ourselves for being human. We make mistakes. If our inner ego starts going off because we make a mistake. Shut it down and say, "well it happens" and correct the mistake. No more negative voice.

We still want to use meditation, yoga pose, food and an affirmation because this awakens and strengthens our chakra. We need all the help that we can get.

2. Meditation:

Here’s an app for Insight Timer Meditation

Here is the YouTube video for Binaural beats to use with earphones.

Meditate for as long as you would like and it's even better if you are out in nature feeling the grass and trees around to ground you.

Close your eyes and feel the earth beneath you. Inhale taking in fresh nourishing energy, exhale releasing all of the things that no longer serve you or help you move forward.

Sit with your shoulders back and your spine straight. Try to relax all your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose, pulling the breath as far down into your body as you can, and exhale through the mouth.

Chant YAM while meditating

Yyyyaaaaaaaaaammmm

Focus a green, warm healing, light in our chest.

3. Food: Green

For a healthy heart chakra eat spinach, kale, green apples, pears, chard, lettuce, broccoli, peas, avocados, cabbage, peppers, zucchini, grapes, and celery.

4. Yoga pose: Reclined Cobbler Pose

Reclining Cobbler’s pose is deeply restful, self love restorative pose. This pose is uplifting and can be used to improve our mood when we are feeling discouraged or depressed.

If you have any medical concerns, talk with your doctor before practicing yoga.

To set up for the pose, fold one or two blankets or towels lengthwise, into long rectangles that are about 4-6 inches wide. Lay the blankets lengthwise.

We begin by sitting in front of the narrow edge of the blanket.

Next, we place our hands on the floor slightly behind our hips then slowly lower our head onto the folded blankets.

Then we bend our knees, bringing the soles of our feet together, and releasing our knees towards the floor without lifting your buttocks off the floor or the mat.

We can so support our head by folding the far end of the top blanket under to create a pillow. Take your arms out to your sides with palms up.

When comfortable, we close our eyes and focus on releasing any tension in chest, shoulders, spine, and hips. Once we have physically relaxed we will pay attention to our breath and stay in this pose as long as we like.

To come out of the pose, use the hands to bring the knees together and the soles of the feet on the floor. Then roll to one side, and use our hands to come up to sitting. Sit quietly for a few breaths before moving on.

5. Affirmation: “I love myself unconditionally.”

When you state an affirmation you are stating a truth. Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energize and motivate.

Repeat all day long and if you look in the mirror while stating this, even better!
